Do I need to treat or paint the timber?

Our Pine timber parts are impregnated against wood rot. Our Douglas fir is protected against wood rot naturally. Both timber types have superior strength and an equally long lifespan. Additional stain or paint is not required.

However, sawn surfaces and outer ends of softwood should be treated with an outdoor wood preservative even when impregnated. Pay extra attention to parts that are in contact with the ground. In case you wish to paint/stain the wood for aesthetic purposes, we recommend a water-repellent stain that's suitable for impregnated wood.
