What kind of wood preservation do we use?

Pressure-treated pine / spruce
High-quality pine / spruce - sourced from responsibly managed forests where more trees are planted than harvested - preserved with a water-based preservative to extend its life and maintain a natural appearance. It is cut to size, planed and sanded on four sides. Northern European pressure-impregnated softwood has been planted, cultivated and used for centuries, for example, in construction, structures and for children's play equipment.
Pine has a good reputation for being reliable, easy to work with and easily replaceable. With a beige, light yellow color that will change into a rustic silver gray over time

Naturally durable Douglas fir
The top quality Douglas fir is naturally durable without the use of preservatives. Choosing a Hy-land playground equipment made of Douglas is a responsible sustainable business practice. Perfect for environmentally conscious entrepreneurs!
Of course, the Douglas timber used in all our playground equipment is from responsibly managed forests where more trees are planted than harvested, It is custom-cut  planed and sanded on all four sides. Recognizable by its golden, beige color with a reddish glow that will gradually change into a rustic silver-gray due to the sun.
