Entanglement risks involving clothing drawstrings and hair during activities that involve forced movements, such as sliding down a fireman's pole or a slide, or during unintended movements like sliding off a roof, are a significant safety concern. To address this, eliminate V-shaped openings and gaps, prohibit the use of hoodies and jackets with drawstrings on playground equipment.
