Because wood is a natural product, every piece of timber has its own specific characteristics, such as knots and other superficial imperfections. Temperature, humidity, sunlight, and impregnation can cause minor dimensional deviations and discolorations. Small cracks and/or resin may appear and usually disappear within a few weeks. If not, these are easy to remove. These are characteristics of wood that are unavoidable and will not compromise the structural integrity of your climbing frame. Stains and weathering of the wood can be treated with an oxalic-acid-based stain remover.
