What are the characteristics of the wood being used?

It is important to note that not all types of wood are suitable for outdoor use. Certain species, such as Douglas and cedar, are naturally resistant to decay and insect damage and are commonly used in outdoor applications. Other species, such as pine, are more prone to rot and require a specific treatment to keep them in good condition.

Because wood is a natural product and every tree is unique, every piece of timber varies from the next and has its own specific characteristics. Over time, the timber used outdoors will experience faded coloring, deviations in dimensions, knots, resin pockets, cracks, and other deformations. These features give the wood its character and natural beauty and do not affect the structural integrity of your climbing frame.
