Do I need to treat or paint the timber?

Good news! Our Jungle Gym timber is already prepared to withstand the elements:

  • Pine wood parts are pressure-impregnated to protect against wood rot.

  • Douglas fir naturally resists wood rot due to its durable properties.

This means both types of wood are strong and have a long lifespan without any additional treatment.

When Should You Apply Extra Treatment?

While additional painting or staining isn’t necessary for protection, there are a few cases where it can be helpful:

Sawn Surfaces & Ends
    • Any cut or sawn areas should be treated with an outdoor wood preservative, even if the wood is already impregnated.

    • Pay special attention to parts that are in contact with the ground for added protection.

For Aesthetic Reasons
    • If you’d like to paint or stain the wood for a personal touch, we recommend using a water-repellent stain that’s compatible with impregnated wood.

By taking these extra steps, you can ensure your Jungle Gym stays beautiful and well-protected for years to come!
